THE FUTURE OF YOUTUBE
I do not know how many introductions the famous video-sharing website YouTube needs, but as a general information, YouTube was created in February 2005 by three employees of PayPal, and was later on in 2006 bought by the famous Google Inc. for $1.65 billion, becoming so a subsidiary of Google. TV clips, music videos, video blogging, short original videos, movie clips, the entire video content is uploaded on the site by individuals, or other organizations who offer materials to the site, according to a YouTube partnership program. Even if unregistered, users can watch the movies posted on the website, and if registered, the users can upload an unlimited amount of videos.
Until YouTube was created, there were not many possibilities for people to watch and to upload videos online, so when the simple website was created, it had a great impact on the society. People could now watch and upload any video that could be watched worldwide by anyone with an internet connection. The site was criticized for not respecting the law of copyright, but when a video is being uploaded on the website, there is always a message appearing on the screen: “Do not upload any TV shows, music videos, music concerts or commercials without permission unless they consist entirely of content you created yourself. The Copyright Tips page and the Community Guidelines can help you determine whether your video infringes someone else's copyright.” YouTube announced this year in March the launch of a beta test for videos in english language, based on Google Voice Search , in order to introduce automatic captioning for the videos, in order to make the website accessible for people with handicap as well, such as deaf or hearing impaired people. The future of YouTube seems to be very promising, because of the thousands and millions of views it has managed to gain and it is still counting. It is possible, that in the future, YouTube manages to present all types of videos, throughout HDTVs, although there are already some doing this, but the room will surely grow with the time passing and the website will be able to offer live broadcast of every single type of video available nowadays and in the future as well. The videos that are posted nowadays, not in HD version, will slowly fade away and they will be just a memory to those of us who lived these times, with the beginning of YouTube, whereas for the forthcoming, it will be “history”.
Technology is going to take the leads in ruling the world someday, and robots and computers will manage to do everything instead of people, and this is exactly what makes us think of a very much changed and developed futuristic YouTube, that will give people the opportunity to post every type of video online. It is the same case as in the development of games, music, movies or pictures. Everything changes in an impressive, beautiful and creative way, so that people can enjoy and ease their work.
